INTER-UNIVERSITY
CENTER FOR LEGAL STUDIES |
The
Challenges and Need
There
exists a need to educate policymakers, and the public in general,
on the critical issues of war and peace challenging the international
community in the twenty-first century. The Inter-University Center
for Legal Studies (IUCLS) has an intellectual obligation, and
a moral and practical responsibility, to contribute to the global
effort to deal effectively with a broad range of topics including:
human rights; ethnic, racial, religious intolerance and violence;
propaganda and information warfare; terrorism; genocide; and war
crimes. Although interdisciplinary in its approach, IUCLS is focusing
on the relationship between the rule of law and various issues
under consideration.
Purpose
The
purpose of the International Seminars Certificate Program is to
provide a diverse, interdisciplinary opportunity for students,
scholars, lawyers, professionals, journalists, and the general
public for understanding some of the most critical political and
legal challenges to national and global security concerns.
