Raghavan Srinivasan was Chief Procurement Advisor of the World Bank until his retirement in 1999. In that position he was responsible for formulating policies and procedures and overseeing procurement of over $20 billion annually of goods, works, and consulting services in Bank-financed operations. He was also responsible for advising and training Bank and borrower staff in procurement matters. Mr. Srinivasan is a graduate in engineering and is specialized in the area of international procurement and material management. He has over forty years experience in international procurement of goods and services and also in national procurement institutions and systems, and is an internationally recognized authority on the subject. He has co-authored International Contracting and Procurement in Development Projects, published by the International Law Institute. |
