Alexander Velderman is a former staff member and currently a consultant with the World Bank's Central Procurement Unit (OPCPR), which is in charge of the Bank's staff training program on procurement. Mr. Velderman is a Master in Civil Engineering from the Delft Technical University in the Netherlands , with more than 20 years of World Bank experience in project execution and procurement. Before his career in the World Bank, he worked twenty-five years with a large Dutch Consulting Firm, where, as Director for Africa, he oversaw many studies in Senegal, Burundi, Rwanda, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, Tunisia and other countries.
