Applications
are due eight weeks before the start date of the selected seminar,
and may be submitted by mail or fax. Selection of Candidates Selection of a nominee
will be determined at the sole discretion of the ILI-ACLE, and
will be based on evaluation of the nominee's credentials. ILI-ACLE
reserves the right to limit the number of participants from a
single country, to limit the size of a seminar, and to cancel
any seminar in the event of under-registration. Notification of
a nominee's acceptance will be made by fax, e-mail, or regular
post mail. Language of Instruction All Seminars are conducted
in English unless otherwise indicated. For a seminar to be of
value, each participant is required to participate in seminar
discussions and must therefore be fluent in understanding, speaking,
and reading English. Tuition and Expenses
Tuition covers
the cost of all training services and seminar materials. Costs
of travel to and from the Institute, housing in Kampala, meals,
and other expenses related to participation in a seminar are to
be borne by the participant and/or the sponsoring institution.
Housing may be arranged by the participant, or the participant
may use hotels recommended by ILI-ACLE. Detailed information regarding
hotels and food will be provided by ILI-ACLE upon confirmation
of participant's enrollment and payment of deposit. An
advance deposit is required to reserve a seat in the seminar,
due at least 35 days prior to the start of the seminar. An
otherwise qualified candidate will be accepted only provisionally
until the deposit is received by ILI-ACLE. If the deposit
is not received by the due date, the applicant may forfeit
his or her reserved seat in the seminar. All deposits are
non-refundable except in the event of seminar cancellation
by ILI-ACLE. If an institution other than the one nominating
the participant is paying for the seminar, the name of that
institution should appear on the form under the section entitled “Special Financial Arrangements.” ILI-ACLE
will in that case make deposit arrangements directly with
that institution. Please note
that late payments are subject to a 2% surcharge on the amount
outstanding or $100.00, whichever is greater, for each month or
partial month for which payment is due. Also please note that
ILI-ACLE does not provide scholarships unless otherwise advertised. Insurance, Visas,
and Travel ILI-ACLE does
not provide travel, health, or accident Insurance to its participants.
It is recommended that all participants obtain health insurance
prior to departure. Each participant
is responsible for obtaining all necessary visas. Please note
that since visas take some time to issue, the requisite consulate
should be contacted well ahead of departure. Participants
are urged to arrive in Kampala at least one day prior to the start
of their seminar, so as to take full advantage of their experience.
This is especially recommended for participants visiting Uganda
for the first time. Likewise, departing flights should be scheduled
no earlier than the day after the seminar concludes. Administration Seminars are
administered by members of the ILI-ACLE staff. Detailed administrative
information will be sent to participants upon acceptance. Certification
Upon successful completion
of each seminar, each participant will be awarded a certificate
of participation. Successful completion requires that a participant
diligently attend all seminar sessions, including team meetings,
promptly at the scheduled time from the first day through the
last day; read all assignments; and participate in all group discussions
and exercises. If a participant misses a number of sessions without
good reason, the ILI-ACLE reserves the right to withhold certification.
