The International Law Institute (ILI) partnered with the International Centre for Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Prevention (ICADRP) to deliver Pakistan’s first comprehensive international arbitration training program in Islamabad from June 29 to July 3, 2026.
Organized by ILI, Pakistan’s Ministry of Law and Justice, and the International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (IMAC), the five-day program was designed to strengthen Pakistan’s institutional and professional capacity in international commercial arbitration. Participants included senior government officials, secretaries to the Government, members of Parliament, legal advisers, and dispute resolution professionals from across Pakistan.
Developed jointly by ILI and ICADRP, the program was built on internationally-recognized best practices and emphasized practical application over traditional lecture-based instruction. Through arbitration simulations, drafting exercises, procedural workshops, tribunal deliberations, and collaborative case studies, participants gained hands-on experience with the processes and skills required to navigate complex international arbitration proceedings.
The program was co-led by Carlos Dávila, Director of Global Partnerships at ILI, and Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha, Chief Executive Officer of ICADRP. They were joined by leading arbitration practitioners whose expertise provided participants with valuable practical insights drawn from international dispute resolution practice.
