Growing up in the German-speaking community of Belgium, Hans came to the United States to study Political Science and Music and is now a junior at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Hans is a drummer and classical percussionist and plays with a variety of different ensembles, including the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he toured Mexico last summer, and is set to depart for China and Japan this June.
In his free time, he enjoys going on runs, producing electronic music on his computer, and creating films. In Belgium, he leads a video workshop for children, teaching them the basics of writing scripts, recording, and editing.
As an intern at ILI, he is excited to learn more about the world of international development, its mechanisms, impact, and hurdles.
