Safiyah Suara is a senior at Rhodes College. She is a Political Science major, with a concentration in Politics and Law, and double minors in International Studies and Asian and Asian American Studies. She plans on attending law school and becoming an international human rights lawyer. On campus, she is involved with the Black Students Association, the Muslim Student Association, and the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. She has also spent the last three years on her college’s Mock Trial team. Off campus, she has interned at various courts, from juvenile to criminal to federal. She has also completed an internship with the Shelby County Public Defender.

In 2025, Safiyah completed a semester abroad in Seoul, South Korea at Ewha Women’s University. There, she volunteered with Liberty in North Korea, where she acted as an English tutor to a resettled North Korean student. In her free time, she enjoys watching dramas with her family and listening to music.
