As globalization leads to increased connectivity, the use of international commercial arbitration has reached new heights. The World Arbitration Update (WAU) endeavors to update the global community on key and novel topics in investment, international commercial arbitration, and international law that have global and regional impacts. WAU provides opportunities to practitioners, states, private parties, arbitrators, international organizations, academics, and students to engage with each other and the conversation on investment and international commercial arbitration.
WAU 2023 spans 5 continents by offering 25 sessions including in-person ones in Singapore, Washington D.C., Mexico, and Bogota. WAU’s dynamic panels initiate with a presentation and update on the topic to be discussed. This is followed by an open discourse between a variety of panelists including practitioners, arbitrators, counsels for investors and/or states, academics, etc. After each panel, there will be a networking space for panelists and WAU attendees to interact.
