Marek Dubovec, ILI’s Director of Law Reform Programs, spoke at the launch of the “Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law,” the event took place at the seat of the Institute in Via Panisperna, 28, Rome, Italy and Marek participated in the ‘Secured transactions in the Principles’ panel conversation.
The “Principals on Digital Assets and Private Law” were adopted by the UNIDROIT Governing Council at its 102nd (10-12 May 2023). The UNIDROIT Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law comprise legislative guidance and best practices in relation to transactions involving digital assets such as cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens. UNIDROIT suggests that all states adopt legislation which is consistent with these Principles, to provide clear rules and reduce legal uncertainty, in relation to both domestic and multi-jurisdictional digital asset transactions.
