ILI Speaks at the 13th Annual East African Procurement Forum

ILI was honored to be able to speak and contribute to the 2021 East African Procurement Forum on April 16, 2021. Ms. Kim Phan, Director, spoke on behalf of the International Law Institute.

The East African Procurement Forum (EAPF) is an event which gathers Heads of public procurement regulatory bodies from East African Community (EAC) member states and other participants on annual basis. The forum attracts around 300 participants including government officials, public procurement industry experts, government suppliers/Bidders, and Development Partners to discuss public procurement issues and to come up with tangible solutions. The Forum provides participants with an opportunity to share experiences and challenges while upholding the desire by member states to harmonize public procurement systems towards a political federation.

This year, Rwanda will host this forum for the 3rd time, and it will be held at Kigali Convention Center April 15th and 16th, 2021. The theme is “Strengthening Integrity and Accountability in Public Procurement for an effective emergency response”. Discussions will revolve around emergencies such as Covid-19.
